Abstractions: Beyond Reality

Parker Artists Guild 19650 Mainstreet, Parker

There are many types and styles of abstract artwork. There is non-objective art which relies only on the elements of art and composition to execute the work, like the work of Mark Rothko. Artwork that is a simplifying or twisting of reality is also abstract, such as the work of Piet Mondrian. Many of Mondrian’s paintings are simplifications of flower arrangements and other everyday scenes or objects. The theme of this show is abstraction, which does not necessarily mean "nothing recognizable", but could also mean "not realism." Abstract photographers often use macro photography or change their photo in the “post-production” or “post-processing” process.
